Just as a confident man dosen't wonder if he's confident, a happy man does not wonder if he's happy. He simply is.
This simply implies that happiness can't be bought just like you buy a dress. It only comes as a result of a particular input or decision, which means finding happiness is not achieved in itself, but rather it is the side effect of a particular set of life experiences. The moment people that realizing that happiness is like other emotions and not something you obtain, but rather something you inhabit, the easier it becomes. Pleasure is great but it's not the same as happiness. Pleasure is correlated with happiness but does not cause it. Ask an adulterer who shattered her family and lost her children whether pleasure ultimately made her happy.
Now here is the question, what exactly is "HAPPINESS"? it is simply the process of becoming your ideal self. Completing a marathon race makes us happier than eating a chocolate cake. Raising a child makes us happier than beating a video game. Now here is the question, what exactly is “HAPPINESS”? it is simply the process of becoming your ideal self.
And that's because our ideal self is always just around that corner, always three steps ahead of us. So if you have to try to be cool, you will never be cool. If you have to try to be happy, then you will never be happy. Maybe the problem these days is people are trying too hard.
